ACT Fibernet Broadband Review

ACT Fibernet broadband provides faster internet connection at affordable price. It uses the latest technology which offers greater speed and lesser outages according the company.  Currently ACT Fibernet Broadband is available in Bangalore, Chennai, Vijayawada, Nellore and Eluru.  I am a user from Bangalore. I recently subscribed to ACT Fibernet broadband and thought of sharing my experience with other people who wants to migrate to this service provider. This is not a technical review rather a simple user review on ACT Fibernet Broadband.

Initial subscription payment and Installation

I was using BSNL broadband from past 7 years. I had unlimited Internet connection plan with 4MBPS speed with FUP of 8GB. The monthly subscription charges was 950 plus taxes. All together I was getting around Rs1100 every month. The connection speed till 8GB was around 3 MBPS and later 350kpbs on average. I met one of my friend who is using the ACT Fibernet Broadband. He showed me the speed and the plans of this service provider.  Initially I was reluctant to migrate but after listening his own experience, thought of giving a try. He referred my number through his account. For this he will get 20% discount on his bill if I take the service.  It happened on Sunday evening.

Monday morning I got a call from ACT Fibernet team regarding the connection request. As I was insisted on making the first payment through credit card, they took one extra day. On wednesday, their sales manager called me and came to my home around 8PM. I needed to fill a application form and submit ID proof , address proof and a photo. Post that, using by BSNL broadband, I made the payment through credit card online. I opted for 6 month plan which gives me 1 month free subscription and installation charges waiver. I chose ACT Blaze plan which offers connectivity speed of 20MBPS till 50GB and post that 512Kbps. The sales person told me that, connection will be made within 7 days.

To my surprise, next day i.e Thursday, I got a call from installation person of ACT, stating he is near my house for connection. Unfortunately I was in office so I told him to keep the wires outside. When I came in the late evening there was  a cable which had fair length which reaches my computer. I called the team and they initiated the process of verification. Within as hour, my broadband is active. I was very happy by the speed at which they gave the connection and enabled the service.

ACT Fibernet Broadband Performance

So far I have used ACT broadband for close to 6 days. Based on these days performance, I can tell that, it provides the speed which they have promised.  I checked with Broadband speed checking tools which also confirmed me that, the speed is 20MBPS both upload and download. I have downloaded few videos which got downloaded in such a speed to justify 20MBPS. Even I uploaded the video on youtube, that too happened very fast.

Overall the performance of ACT Fibernet Broadband is excellent till date. When I compare BSNL broadband Vs ACT Fibernet, undoubtedly, ACT Broadband is much value for money. I would recommend this to any one with confidence.

    New account activated 5 days ago and yet no internet while I continue to get billed. Read on…

    I took an ACT connection recently (50 mbps). They activated my connection on 1st September. Prior to activation I went out and bought a router and disconnected my other service provider. They promised from day 1 that someone would come and configure my router but no one did and I finally did it myself. I’ve had a working Internet connection for 30 min only since then. I have a yellow triangle error saying ‘No Internet connection’. I’ve tried everything to fix it myself parallely. Since then I’ve called their customer service everyday. Everyday the calls have lasted more than 15 mins (it takes 10 mins just to get a person) and I’ve been told various things like fiber issues etc. I’ve checked with my neighbour till 5 mins ago and the connection is fine. It’s my ip issue which I have been seeking support for 5 days and yet no one from act has helped me or visited me. I’ve paid for the connection, router, all the phone calls not to mention the waste of time and energy. It’s been 5 days and I don’t have Internet while I continue to get billed. Your people keep calling and promising to come. Then they dont answer their phone and dont show up. three days in a row I have sat at home waiting.

      Please mention the location where you are facing issue. So that it will be helpful for others too. Regarding the service, as I mentioned in the review, I got good service. So far I have faced 4 or 5 times issues. All the issues got fixed within 1 or 2 hours. Compared to my previous broadband service provider, this is much better.

      Regarding the long wait time, even I faced the same issue. Hope you have raised the complaint and complaint no is there with you. I would also like to share experience with speed. While downloading or uploading or even watching youtube videos speed is noticeable. But general browsing, it is same like 1MBPS.

    hi, These guys are a big cheat, in the first 20 days they sent a mail to me stating that completed my available FUP and i should pay more money for my extension. This happened in the month of Sep, for the first time and i paid the extra money. Subsequent month this has become their norm. The funniest part is in the month of Dec 8 days in to the month and they send me a message that i have consumed 80% of FUP space. That too only connecting my mobile. To mention a complaint they will revert back to the customer only after 5 days. In these 5 days i have not downloaded anything nor watched a single movie on the web.

    I think i will discontinue this

    You definitely failed to mention about their worst customer service in your blog. I have called 4 times in 15 days for an upgrade and every single time they promise with 48hrs installation but no action what so ever. Its frustrating to see these kind of articles when this service doesn’t even comply to our basic requests as a customer. I am switching to a different network staring next month. BTW its not only me, who’s been victim to their pathetic customer service…you can see for yourelf…its all over the internet!!! I would never recommend this service to any one!!

      Thanks for your feedback and time taken to share your experience with fellow readers.
      As I mentioned in my post, it was my experience with ACT broadband. For me they have installed it on time. I can say they were very quick. When it comes to service, it was mixed experience. Earlier it was too good. But in recent times, there were many downtimes but they fixed it within 24 hours except one instance, where they took around a week which happened very recently. Reaching customer care service during peak hours is very difficult. Twice I have waited for more than 45 minutes. Also my earlier broadband service was BSNL. Compared to it, ACT broadband gave me better service.
      I have received the same negative feedback from some of my friends who stays in other regions of Bangalore. So I think depending on the area you are, service quality changes it seems.

    I started to hate them before using it…

    I was using their service for some days in my office. It was ok and works well but some time it will go all down. we had even some network virus it is still existing. i am new in bangalore so i thought i could take the same connection to my home than office. so i call them. they said it will need at least 7 days to check the feasibility and everything. i agreed. i waited. finally in the end of the final 7th day i called them. i asked about the connection. they said actually we have no service in your area. (i called them from the number which is just from my opposite apartment) so i said why you didnt inform that you dont have any service? so he just told me why we need to inform you if we cannot give you a connection ? this is the kind of answer can loose their customers.

    come on ,,, i was pissed of with their answer and at least i am happy that i didnt choose them in my home. i called another service provider and they didnt even take 24 hours to give me a new connection with feasibility and everything…

    every month there is a problem and every month i pay for the complaint to the customer care in terms of call charges…the customer care is NOT TOLL FREE number…i have to pay for the problem, from your side ,…is this some kind of business trick to pay your company’s “customer care” rent by the customers ?

    My number is 9937386771. This ACT is so much bad, they took money from me for 3 months and the guy Keshab came on 1st March 2019 and told me we will give connection within 2 days. These nonsense people are cheater, and it is now 11th day they are playing with me., I would say this company should get shutdown because of poor service and cheating to customer. Grow-up ACT else you will be no where

    Hello All Never ever go with ACT connection they are biggest cheaters. I recently took connection Account No. 102596263171. They promised me to give FireStick 4K I took plan Entertainment for one year paying 18K they promised me it would be 4K. Finally I got Fire stick with 1080P. Finally when I tried reaching them on the first node customer care numbers +919121212121 +917288999999 where hardly reachable and once I was able to connect to them and he listen to my story said he will connect to concerned department and disconnected. Later When I spoke to customer care they said they will only give 1080P fire stick and they where not in a mood to even listen to me. Later I got hold of disconnect team and the person was so harsh when i said him you are cheater he said me same to you when I started shotting on me he asked me to shutup and later disconnected. When I ask them to disconnect and pay my money back they said they will be holding Fire stick charges of 3999 Rs and Modem 3K and return back money. I said I never used also said fire stick older one is sold for 3K and no response. Please never beleive what ever ACT people say better try different connection they are fesible not like ACT which is too rude and don’t listen to customer. I even sent mail on helpdesk.blr@actcorp.in on friday no response yet. Multiple time they say will call back never I got call from them. please Avoid them.
