There is a lot of options when it comes to sub 10k smartphones. Metal build, respectable camera, good battery life, decent performance are becoming regular in this price segment. Asus Zenfone Live tries to stand out from the crowd with its unique feature of real time live streaming beautification. Here is our Asus Zenfone Live review based on pros and cons.
Key USP of Zenfone live is the real time live streaming beautification feature. The device has 5 MP front facing camera with 1.4-micron pixels and a selfie flash. This helps Zenfone Live to capture better photos and videos in low light. There is a beautification mode which has the option to set the beautification from 0 to 10. 0 means no beautification and 10 is the highest. When the beautification is applied, it makes the skin smoother and removes blemishes. You can use beautification mode to record videos using the front camera or live streaming on instagram, facebook live or youtube. It is a worthy feature for those who want to look beautiful while doing live broadcasting.
Asus Zenfone Live sports 5 inch display screen with 720p pixels. The viewing angle, brightness, and colors are satisfactory. However, we felt it would have been great if it had full HD display panel.
It is a dual sim smartphone which supports 4G VoLTE. The hybrid sim card slot on this device can be used for 2 sim cards or 1 sim card with microSD card. Zenfone Live is powered by Snapdragon 400 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The SoC is quite dated. For giving an idea, this is the same SoC used on Moto G first generation. It performs decently in most of the basic tasks. However, there is a noticeable lag while opening apps or playing games.
