Bangalore Lalbagh which is covered in area around 240 acre is considered to be one of the most diverse botanical garden in South Asia. It is located in the southern part of Bangalore city. It is one of the popular tourist spot of the city. Every year, on occasion of Independence day and Republic day celebration, flowershows are consucted. Every flowershow is different. With different themes, the glass house is decorated with flowers on each occasion. 26th January 2016 flower show will be the 203rd flowershow conducted in Lalbagh Botanical garden Bengaluru.
The Lalbagh flower show started about 102 years ago by Mysore Horticulture Society. When started, this shows were called as “Summer Show” and “Winter Show”. However, from the year 1951, Lalbagh flowershow are being synchronized with Republic Day and Independence Day. Currently on each flowershow events are witnessed by more than lakh visitors. Lalbagh Flower Show 26th January 2016
This is the current flowershow happening in Lalbagh botanical garden. It got inaugarated on 16th January 2016 and will last on 26th January. This times flowershow will mark the 150 birth anniversary of Gustav Hermann Krumbiegel and the birth centenary of Dr. M.H. Marigowda, both renowned horticulturists. The timing will be from 9AM to 6PPM. Enty fee for the flowershow will be Rs.50 on weekdays and Rs.60 on weekends.
Lalbagh Flowershow 15th August 2015
This floral extravaganza at Lalbagh happened in between 7th August 2015 to 16th August 2015. Theme for this flowershow was replica of Bangalore Palace which created using 200,000 Dutch roses, apart from the 5 Maharajas of Mysuru made using flowers.
Lalbagh Flowershow 26th January 2015
Highlight of this 2015 republic day flower show was 50 feet long, 28 ft high and 40 ft wide replica of Red Fort. This was made using more than three lakh roses of different colours for decoration. A flower replica of the Statue of Liberty was also made at the Glass House of Lalbagh. This flower show started on 17th January 2015 and continued till 27th of Jan.

This was the 200th flowershow on Lalbagh Bangalore.
