How to Update Moto G to Android 4.4 Kitkat Through OTA(Over The Air) Update

  • Go to Apps
  • Touch settings
  • Touch About phone
  • Touch System updates.
When an update is available, you will be notified about the firmware update. Just follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. Once the installation complete, the device needs to restart to complete the process. How to Update to Android 4.4 Kitkat Through Moto G PC suite

Updating through OTA is easy method. However, if you have slow internet connection or internet disconnection, then it is wise idea to update Moto G via PC suite. Motorola offers free PC suite for Moto G in the name of Motorola Device Manager. Here is the steps to update Moto G firmware.
To Update Moto G through PC suite you need to have following requisites.

  • USB Cable
  • Motorola Device Manager PC suite
  • 2GB of available disk memory
  • Broadband internet connection
Updating through Moto G PC Suite
  • Connect your device to the computer with a USB cable.
  • If it’s your first time connecting, you will be notified that device drivers are being installed on your your computer.
  • After your first connection, you should see a message about updates when you connect. If the update message does not appear, you can check for updates manually by clicking on the Motorola Device Manager (MDM) icon, Image. You’ll find it in your computer’s menu bar or the system tray. Then click Check for device update.
  • MDM will tell you if an update is available.
  • Simply follow the instructions on the screen to update your device.

MDM regularly checks for updates when you connect your device to computer. However you can  check manually too any time by using the MDM icon Image . Just remember, your device has to be connected to computer to do this.
