HP Pavilion Plus 16 Review
Design

Upon unboxing, the first thing that catches your eye is its design. HP has done a fantastic job with it. The metal body with a frosted surface gives it a premium look. Additionally, it hardly attracts fingerprint smudges, which is a practical advantage. It measures 357 x 253.5 x 17.7mm and weighs about 1.89kg, making it easy to carry. I have the silver variant, and overall, it offers a minimalistic yet professional look.
Display, Audio and Camera
The HP notebook boasts an impressive display panel that is truly stunning. The 16-inch IPS panel offers 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 400 nits of brightness. It has a varying refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and the viewing angles are excellent. Thanks to the 16:10 aspect ratio, it provides more vertical space, which is especially handy when working with Excel sheets or video editing. The rich colors with deeper blacks make watching videos and photos an absolute pleasure.
The HP Pavilion Plus 16 features a practical 5MP camera located at the top center of the display. It performs really well even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.
The top-firing Bang & Olufsen speakers provide clear audio output, but the loudness could have been better.
Performance
The HP Pavilion Plus 16 comes equipped with a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700H 2.4GHz processor, coupled with 16.0 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics. It also has 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. In my experience, I found it to be very impressive. Although I’m not a gamer, I did use it for multiple applications with many tabs open on Chrome browser, and it never felt slow or unresponsive. I also used it to run Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 for video editing and it managed to encode quickly without any noticeable sluggishness while editing and previewing. Additionally, it never got too hot. The 68Wh battery provided a decent 6-hour backup in my usage, which is quite good considering the amount of power it offers.
Verdict: The HP Pavilion Plus 16 is an all-round performer, featuring a great display panel, an appealing design, zippy performance, a handy webcam, a pleasure-to-type keyboard, and a large-sized trackpad. At the time of writing this review, the price of the HP Pavilion Plus 16 in India is 1,24,999. If someone has this budget, then this is a laptop they can consider.
