    First, let’s talk about the merits of Asus ZenBook 13.

    Design and Build Quality

    The striking feature of this laptop is its compactness. It is slim and stylish. Our review unit has a Rose Gold color. The main chassis is metal. Overall it looks attractive.

    Good Display Panel

    13.3 inch Full HD display panel with slim bezel is good. it is sharp and bright. The viewing angles are great.

    Keyboard and Trackpad

    The keyboard on Asus ZenBook 13 is large and well spaced. This backlit chiclet keyboard is pleasing to type.  The wide trackpad is smooth and responsive.

    Performance and battery life

    Starting from the first boot, the machine shows it is a powerful machine. Multitasking, Audio/Video streaming, basic video editing are done without any issues. It is not a gaming laptop. It comes with Intel UHD 620 graphics instead of a dedicated Nvidia GPU. If you are looking for a laptop just for gaming, then ROG series laptop is preferred.

    The laptop battery easily lasts around 6 to 7 hours with moderate usage on a single charge.

    • Sound output is not loud.
    • Lid is plastic.

    Asus VivoBook S14 (S406) Review- Pros and Cons

    Asus VivoBook S14 comes in two series. One for the offline and another one for online. The offline only model VivoBook S14(S406U) is slimmer, lighter and comes only with SSD for storage. Online variants of VivoBook S14(S410UA ) are exclusive to Flipkart and comes with SSD and hard drives for storage. However, they are little thicker and heavier.

    Our review device is VivoBook S406U with Gold Color.

    VivoBook S14 Pros

    Here are the merits of  VivoBook S406U

    • Slim and lightweight design:   VivoBook S406U sports a stylish slim and light weight design.  It looks and feels like an ultrabook. The lid is metal and scratch resistant according to Asus. The hairline finish looks on the back is impressive especially the Gold variant. Sandblasted finish in the palm rest area and surrounding looks good.
    • Good Display panel: One of the main USP of the device is its display panel. It sports 14 inch full HD IPS display panel with a matte finish.  The display provides good viewing angles and brightness.
    • Performance: 8th Gen Intel  Core i5 with 8GB RAM and SSD provides good performance for the regular usage. It may be browsing or for watching videos, there is no issues. Tried with basic video editing, it managed to perform satisfactorily. In our usage, we have not faced any heating issues.
    • Good Keyboard and trackpad: VivoBook S14 comes with a full sized keyboard and keys has 1.4mm of travel. It feels good for typing. The wide trackpad performance is decent for the price tag.

    VivoBook S14 Cons

    Here are the few demerits of VivoBook S406U.

    • The lid is not solid enough: The hinge is not strong enough to hold display firmly. Due to this if you are using the notebook while traveling, display wobbles.
    •  Flex in the keyboard area: There is a flex in the keyboard area when pressure is applied. Due to this, little noise comes when typing fast.
    • Average battery life:  With casual usage, this notebook provides 6 to 6 and a half hours of battery life. However, it could have been better.

    • Premium and compact design: Inspiron 7460 sports good design and build quality. Brushed aluminum reinforced with a magnesium alloy top inner frame in addition to diamond-cut edges, give premium feel to this notebook. The ultra thin bezel of display helps to make the notebook compact even though it has 14 inch display screen.
    • Full HD display screen: Dell Inspiron 7460 comes with 14 inch full HD IPS display screen. The screen is vibrant and decently sharp. Viewing angles and color accuracy are satisfactory.
    • Connectivity ports:  While there is a increase in trend of dropping of ports to make the notebook slimmer, Inspiron 7460 sports almost all essential ports such as USB 3.0, Media Card Reader, HDMI, USB 3.0 with power share.
    • Good performance:  As it has 7th Generation Intel Core i5 with NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics and 8GB of RAM, this compact notebook provides good day to day performance. The video editing performance was also decent.
    • Keyboard: Inspiron 7460 comes with backlit keyboard. The keys have decent travel. Overall it feels good to type on this keyboard.

    Here are the few things which we didn’t like on this Dell Notebook.

    • Glossy Display screen: This notebook has glossy screen. As a result of it,  it is difficult to use in outdoor. Even in indoors where light source is behind, it is little difficult to read on this screen.
    • No optical drive.
    • Low Sound output: Sound via speakers are decent. But if you are looking for good audio experience, it is better to use external speakers.
