Display quality control issue

This is one of the major demerit of LeEco Le2 smartphone. When you press on the display, it produces kind of creaking noise. The reason for this might be due to display not struck well or there is hollow space below the display panel. The impact of this on the durability is not known. But in Spite of many people complaining about it, LeEco never bothered to clarify on the reason for the same. In summary, if you are looking for a durable smartphone, it is better to stay away from this smartphone till there is proper explanation from the company.

No 3.5mm headphone jack

In LeEco Le 2, 3.5mm headphone jack has been removed. Now it uses USB-C port for the audio output. Unfortunately, LeEco’s Type C earphone is the only available earphone which can utilize the new CDLA technology. This costs you around Rs.2000. The sound output via USB-C to 3.5 mm jack is not much different from the other smartphones in the same price tag.

Heavily customised skin and delay in software updates

LeEco Le 2 runs on EUI 5.8 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes with lot of bloatware. Considering the history of LeEco previous devices, there is a much delay in rolling out Android updates. Le 1s yet to get the Android 6.0 update. Lack of security updates might result in malware attacks.

No expandable storage option

LeEco Le 2 comes with 32GB of internal storage in which around 23GB is user available. Lack of expandable storage, might be a deal breaker for people who wants to save huge media collections.

No NFC

LeEco L2 does not have NFC.

These are some of the LeEco Le 2 cons which you need to keep in mind before purchasing this device. It is a good smartphone, there is no doubt in that. But quality control issues and slow android updates are serious concerns of LeEco Le 2.

Its been a week for me with the Le Eco Le 2 i have to say this that barring one issue (which i am not able to solve yet) i dont have any problem with this phone.
Many users are stating about the problems with the screen but the unit i received have no problems with the screen. Its a beautiful phone, there is no heating issue, color reproduction, brightness, contrast of the screen are almost perfect. The fingerprint sensor was a first for me, and initially i did not know how my fingerprint is recognized and fed into the system but after a few tries i got to know about it. And now its one of the coolest features of my phone. Sound is a bit low but its not an issue for me as i use bluetooth speakers. I found the camera to give good night photos better than my samsung, sony zperia z ultra and moto e. And i found the best mode for night pic s should be on auto. But, i am not a camera enthusiast and so this is also not an issue for me. Played Games with Wi-Fi on and downloading in the background lasted a full 10 hours non stop on this phone and let me tell you .. there is very less heat in the background. BUT, it lags a little when you play demanding games with downloading in the background.

The issue i got with this phone is that my PC does not recognize Le2 when i connect the Data / power cable to the USB. My PC is running on Windows 10, intel motherboard.

I’ve already buy this phone phone is good looks
but there is some problem like:- high resolution and low resolution game stopped any time while playing. and phone display light is showing .
i thought best performance but it’s not i’m unhappy with this.

I need to buy phone for long duration(durable).. currently having canvas 110 from around 4yrs.. and its working good.. but issue is with OS version and camera quality.. so I want to buy new one.. atleast I can use that for 3-4 yr..

Been using this phone for 2 days now. So the only major setback till now is the in ear experience of this phone. They don’t provide a 3.5 mm jack, so you will have to carry a USB C type cable with you all the time. Given the small size of the cable, you may lose it accidentally. The audio quality is good, but it’s not loud enough. I tried my senheiser cx 180 earphones on this one with max volume and I was not satisfied with the loudness of the songs. You really need that extra loudness when you hit the gym or you are walking to reach somewhere. I mean take any other phone with a 3.5 mm jack and I bet you can’t listen to songs at max volume on these pair of earphones. So I guess this is the most significant demerit of this phone. On all other parameters it stands out truly.

I am confused as well. I currently own a Samsung Note 2 ( the screen is shattered, but the phone works fine). They said it may cost around 4K to change the screen. So I decided to buy a new phone.
1. My budget less than 15K.
2. Durable & reliable phone with good camera, storage.
3.I would like to use JIO sim as well . (So 4G VOLTE).

Confused between Redmi Note 3, Redmi MI Max, Le 2 ,Motorola g4 plus, Coolpad Mega (recently launched for 6999/-)
Please suggest. I look forward to hear from you. Thanks for your time and advice.

I am using this phone-Le2 since one month I have not encountered any issue till now other than video calling. It is really disgusting that so called high end mobile phone doesn’t support video calling even over 4g. I am using Jio sim. Also have jio4gVoice in my phone. But it redirects me to phone’s default dialer where there is no video calling option seen.
I discussed this issue on Le2’s Facebook page as well as with Feedback option available in mobile but there is no explanation and no reply from Le team. Whereas you can now enjoy video calling even in cheaper mobiles below 5k. Le has to do some needful for this. Everything else is OK about the phone.

I completely disagree with your review. Sounds biased and sponsored towards xiaomi. LeEco le2 offers better display and camera than xiaomi redmi note 3, NFC is not an issue. What I expected you to say was lack of the 3.5mm jack. Screen issue has been exaggerated beyond proportion. I’d advice that henceforth do your reviews based on experience and not assumptions.
