Motorola has launched its much expected 4th gen Moto G smartphones in India in two variants. Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are new smartphones which will succeed the last years Moto G3 and Moto G Turbo. Here are few tips and tricks on Moto G4 Plus with FAQ.

What are the different variants of Moto G4 Plus available in India?

The new smartphone will be available in India in two variants based on the internal storage and RAM size. One is 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage and another one is 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage.

What is the Moto G4 Plus price in India?

The price of 4th Gen Moto G in India are as follows.

2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage-Rs.13,499
3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage- Rs.14,999.

What are the different colour variants available?

Currently, the device will be available in Black and White colour variants.

What type of sim cards Moto G4 Plus accepts?

It accepts 2 micro sim cards.

Is Moto G4 Plus water resistant?

No. It just has water repellant nano coating which we have seen in Moto G, Moto G2 etc.

Does it accepts microSD card? What is the maximum capacity of microSD card can be used on these devices?

Yes. Both variants of 4th gen Moto G plus supports upto 128GB of microSD card.

What is the SoC is used in Moto G4 Plus?

It is powered by Octa core Snapdragon 617 Soc(8x ARM Cortex A53) with Adreno 405 GPU.

Does it has LED notification light?

Yes. It has white LED light. But it glows only when device is connected to charger and it is charging.

What are the camera features?

4th Gen Moto G Plus has 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also has laser auto focus and phase detection auto focus(PDAF). There is a 5MP front facing camera with wide angle lens for selfies and video calling.

Does Moto G Plus 2016 has fast charging option? Is fast charger bundled in the box?

Yes. It supports fast charging. The bundled charger supports fast charging. Motorola claims, 15 minutes of charging will give around 6 hours of power.

How to take screenshot on Moto G4 Plus?

For taking screenshot, follow the steps given below.

Go to the screen on which you want to capture screenshot.
Press and hold volume down and power button simultaneously.
The screenshot will be taken and saved in the Gallery folder. You can access it from “File Manager” or from the “Photos” app from Google which are preinstalled on your Moto G4 Plus.

How to use Moto G4 Plus as modem?

MOTO G4 Plus do have a notification light on the right side of the fingerprint sensor but it does not serve any purpose at the moment and it is a white color LED only. you can see it in action by powering off your device and then putting it on charge.

Is there a network activity indicator (data transfer speed) icon to enable in Moto G4 Plus model? This feature is present in my current Lenovo Vibe P1. For some reason, i’m not finding this feature in moto G4.

There is no option to reboot or restart when we press lock button .
When we use camera mobile heat very much upto 40° to 45° any solution for that please share your comment

Hi Anirudhh,

Appreciate your blog and you helping others. I have small concern, how to keep Moto G4+ in silent mode. After long press of power button it only displays “Power off” option no other option is found. I manage to keep phone in vibration mode by volume key but not able to find silent mode option.
Also, where is “help” option available in this phone.
Your help in this regard will be great.

And also which I can install on it.

Cause I tried for moto gallery app from play store it’s shows compatibility issue and not let me download it, Do you know why…..?

Please tell me any trick to save my rear camera from getting scratched….. Note that I am already using a silicon back cover.. but still the camera area is getting a bit scratchy… i think this is happening primarily because of putting it in my jean’s pocket IMO…

Please suggest quickly…

One more problem i am facing is that whenever i put it in my pocket somehow my fingerprint sensor starts working (may be due to capacitive senses my body) and it keeps getting locked and each time i put it out, i have to unlock the fingerprint feature again….

I am new to moto g4 plus. I cannot find the gallery app on the phone. All pics (camera, WhatsApp images etc) are getting stored on the same location in file manager. It’s difficult to differentiate.

Dear Aniruddh,

I have purchased new Moto G4 plus last week. I noticed that when I am saving the mobile numbers from Whatsapp (i.e. while using whatsapp clicking on the number and then save by ‘add to contact’), those numbers gets saved on the mobile but after some time or period those are not visible in the Whatsapp and also in the contact list in the mobile. I can not see those saved numbers in the contact list in the mobile and also in whatsapp those numbers are visible in chat but the names which are saved are not visible. In such case I need to again add the number in contact by opening contact and then add there.
Do you have any solution for this?

I’m using moto g4 plus for like a week and yesterday was when I noticed that when you are already on a call and someone calls you you don’t get the alert like in other phones the phone beeps 2-3 times then you get to know someone else is calling you…the caller gets a busy tone but I don’t get to know that he has called. I don’t know whether its also with other moto g 4 plus users or its just me…but plz give me some suggestion or solution as to how can I solve this.

Hello sir.
I have just purchased moto g4 plus Amazon Js 2 days ago I have some issue like m unable to activate 3g net several times I changed the settings some times it’s show 3g after then Js show H meanwhile m frustrated by doing so.another problem is while inserting headphone it’s never show the sign of headphone but while playing music or checking the headphones. It’s working but why not headphone sign shows on top of the screen.

Why can I not attach a picture taken with this phone to an E-mail (Yahoo) that is viewable and not distorted to the viewer. I CAN sending myself a photo attachment via Yahoo to both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts from my phone and can view them both on my phone and on my PC but no one else can. Hate that this phone does not have a photo gallery. Photos come out stretched and unrecognizable to others. Tried sending as photo, file, and via sharred google link.?????
