Asus has launched new variant of Zenfone 2 Laser(ZE601KL) in India at a price of Rs.17,999. The device will be available in 3 different color options – Red, Silver and Gold. Starting December 2nd week, ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE601KL) will be available through popular e-commerce sites such as Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. It can be also purchased from offline channels.
Asus Zenfone 2 Laser(ZE601KL) sports 6-inch IPS full-HD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 367 ppi pixel density. The display has scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE601KL) is a dual sim 4G enabled smartphone and runs on Android Android 5.0 Lollipop-based ZenUI. Go to “Settings”-> “More”-> ” Tethering and Wifi hotspot “-> ” Set up Wi-Fi hotspot “.

then Go to “Settings”-> “More”-> ” Tethering and Wifi hotspot “.
Enable “USB tethering”.

How to Asus Zenfone 2 as modem through Bluetooth Tethering
Asus Zenfone 2 Bluetooth Tethering is the method used to share mobile internet to PC through Bluetooth. For using this method, you need to configure your PC as well.
Enable Bluetooth on your Zenfone 2.
Now go to “Settings”-> “More”-> ” Tethering and Wifi hotspot “.
Enable “Bluetooth Tethering”.
Make your Zenfone visible visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices.
Now you need to pair it with your laptop to connect to internet using Zenfone 2 Mobile data. This is a one time activity on your laptop.
On your laptop, go to Control Panel-> Devices and Printers.

The laser technology based focus system is useful only for taking the close objects. The camera does a decent job. However, in bright day light, images taken with auto settings produces wash out images. Indoor and low light performance is just ok. The front facing camera performance is also decent. There is one con here. That is default camera app cannot record videos using the front facing camera.
Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is powered by 3000mAh battery. This is one of the main attraction of the device apart from laser guided camera. The battery lasts almost a day with heavy usage and with casual usage, it lasts around 2 days. The screen on time is around 6 hours which is very good for a Android phone in this budget.
Asus Zenfone 2 Laser run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and ZenUI on top of it. There are few tweaks which are very useful such as double to tap to wake up or go to sleep etc. Unfortunately, Asus bundled many bloatwares which cannot be uninstalled easily by the user. The day to day performance is good enough and not felt much lag. The call quality of the device is excellant. One of the disadvantage of Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is its speakers. The volume of this speaker is bit low.
