    OnePlus Nord CE 4 5G runs on the latest Android 14 out of the box. Like many many recent android phones, on this phone too, traditional power button doesn’t bring up the power menu. So what are the different options to turn off OnePlus Nord CE4?. Here are two different methods.

    How to turn off OnePlus Nord CE4 – Remap power key to power menu

    As mentioned before, two commonly used method to shutdown or restart OnePlus Nord CE4 are explained here.

    Method 1: Using the hardware button combination

    Volume UP and Power button are the two keys we need to use for this method. So quickly press and release Volume up and power key together. You will get power menu page. From there, move the slider to up for restart and slide down for power off.

    Method 2: Power off using the power key

    If you wish to use the traditional method of shutdown, i.e long pressing the power button to get power menu, you have the option to do it. To do it,

    • Go to Settings->Additional Settings.
    • Tap Power button.
    • Select Press and hold the power button.
    • You will get two options: Power menu and Voice Assistant. Choose Power menu.

    In the future whenever you long press the power button you will get the power menu. From there you can power off or restart your OnePlus phone.

    These are two different methods to turn off OnePlus Nord CE 4.

      Go to Google Play store. Search OnePlus Switch. Install the app on your old phone.

    2. Open OnePlus Switch App in OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro.

      If it is not installed, install it from Playstore.

    3. Launch OnePlus Switch App on old phone.

      If your old device is OnePlus phone then select “I’m an Old Phone”.

    4. Scan the QR code of OnePlus 7 from old phone.

      You need to provide full permission to OnePlus Switch App. Then scan the QR code showing in new phone OnePlus switch App from old phone OnePlus Switch app.

    5. Select the Data to transfer

      You can choose the data you want to transfer from old phone to new one.

    Enable Zen Mode

    Zen Mode in Oxygen OS is something like Google’s digital well being initiative. It forces the user to put the device down and do something else for some time. It pauses the device and locks most of the features. You can recieve calls and take pictures. However, you will not receive notifications, messaging or no other apps. ZenMode once enabled, will last for 20 minutes. There is no way to bypass it.

    To enable Zen Mode-

    • Add the Zen Mode to the quick settings. You can do this by tapping pencil icon and dragging Zen Mode to the Quick Settings panel.
    • Tap on Zen Mode to activate.
    • It will show the message. If you agree and confirm, a countdown timer will show up on the screen.
    • After 20 minutes, it will be automatically disabled.

    Screen Recording

    OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 comes with built in screen recorder feature. You have the option to record audio via external mic as well. To enable screen recorder,

    • Add the screen recorder to quick settings menu.
    • Tap on screen recorder button.
    • A small graphic will appear on the screen.
    • Tap on the red record to start recording.
    • You can customise the settings by tapping on gear icon.
    • Tap “X” to stop screen recording.

    Enable Ambient Display

    OnePlus 7 Pro has the ambient light display feature. This is similar feature like always on display in Samsung phones. If ambient display is enabled, time, music controls, and pending notifications will show up in lock screen.

    To enable ambient display feature

    • Go to Setting->Display > Ambient display.
    • You can choose ‘Pick up your phone to show’ or Tap the screen to show option. You can even enable both.

    Disable Shelf

    Shelf feature can be accessed by swiping left on the home screen. If you don’t like that feature, you can disable it. To disable shelf,

    • Long press on the empty space on home screen.
    • Go to Home Screen settings.
    • Toggle the shelf button to the Off position.

    Adjust Refresh Rate and Resolution

    OnePlus 7 Pro comes with high refresh rate of 90Hz and QHD+ resolution. It is good feature but with compromise on battery life. It drains battery fast. However, you can change the refresh rate and display resolution to save battery. You can find these option in Settings> Display.

    • Swipe with three fingers on screen upwards or downwards.
    • Screenshot will be captured.

    How to do Screen recording in OnePlus 7 Pro

    One of the newly introduced feature in OnePlus 7 pro is built in screen recorder. In the settings, you can adjust the bit rate, resolution and also you have the option to record audio via external microphone. To perform screen recording in OnePlus 7 Pro,

    • Add the screen recorder option to Quick settings.
    • Tap the screen recorder button.
    • A small icon will float on your screen.
    • Tap on red record button to start recording.
    • You can tap on gear icon to change the setting or “X” close screen recorder.
