  • Moto E3 Power Review-Pros and Cons

The first Moto E was the one which set benchmarking for budget android smartphones. That was focussed more on user experience rather than the paper spec sheet. Stock android with timely software updates, decent battery life, lag free day to day performance etc were the selling point of that device. But today we have lot of options when it comes to budget Android smartphones. Considering the competition, here is the Moto E3 Power Review based on pros and cons.

    Moto E3 Power Review

Moto E3 power sports 5 inch IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels which roughly translates to 294 ppi pixel density. The viewing angle and brightness are adequate but not great.Colors look rich and vibrant. However, there is no option to change colour temperature. Overall it has decent display screen.

The Moto E3 Power comes with 1GHz quad core MediaTek MT6735(Cortex A53) processor with Mali T720GPU and 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage in which close to 12GB is user available. The device supports microSD card upto 32GB. It is a dual sim smartphone with 4G LTE(VoLTE ready).

Like previous generation Moto E devices, this also runs on near stock Android 6.0. When it comes to performance, we are disappointed with the device. There was a lags on day to day usage. Gaming experience on this device is horrible. Casual games are playable but experience is not smooth. One more demerit with the device is delay in software updates. Our review device security patch update date was 1st June 2016.

Moto E3 Power houses 8MP primary camera with F/2.2 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. On the front there is a 5MP selfie camera. In good lighting condition, camera performance was decent. However, in low light and artificial lighting condition,  performance was average. The rear camera can record videos at maximum 720p resolution.

Moto E3 Power is backed by 3500mAh user removable battery. It also comes with fast charger. As per the company, 15 minutes of charge can deliver upto 5 hours of power. However, in our usage, it took close to one and half hours fully charge the battery.
