OnePlus 5 Cons- 5 Reasons why it is not a flagship Killer

    1.Design

Oneplus 5 design and build quality are good and there is no doubt in that. However, it lacks originality or innovativeness. The design of the smartphone resembles very much with the likes of Oppo R11 and iPhone 7s Plus. It would have been great if OnePlus tried to make the device little more compact by reducing the bezels around the screen or adopting curved display. Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6 stands out from the rest due to their thin bezels and design.

    2. Display

OnePlus 5 sports 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display with full HD screen resolution. This is the same panel used on OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Quality wise it is a good panel. But most of the flagship this year comes with QuadHD resolution. Even recently launched Honor 8 Pro which is priced lower than OnePlus 5 features QuadHD display panel.

    3. Water resistance

Most of this year’s flagship smartphones such as Galaxy S8, LG G6 or  HTC U11 comes with water resistant feature. This comes handy when there is accidental fall or sudden exposure to rain etc. Recently there was an article on phoneradar.com, which mentions about an instance where the customer is asked to pay Rs.48,000 for repairing water damaged OnePlus 3 which is priced at Rs.28,000 for the new device from the OnePlus service center. Though IP water resistance certification does not make the device waterproof, it reduces the chances of water damage.

    4. No Optical image stabilisation for both the camera

Dual camera setup is the highlighting feature of OnePlus 5. Surprisingly, OnePlus skipped Optical image stabilisation and provided only Electronic image stabilisation. Optical Image stabilisation comes in handy while taking snaps in low light or zoom shot. It also helps in smooth video recording.

    5. Post sales service support

OnePlus has limited service centres in India. Also going by the recent news, the paid service of OnePlus device cost is very high. If your device gets damaged through water or lightning, then the repair cost may become double the cost of the new device.

These are the 5 reasons we felt for not considering OnePlus 5 as the flasgship killer. In spite of all these OnePlus 5 Cons or drawbacks or demerits, OnePlus 5 is still a great phone. As per our knowledge, there is no charger which charges a smartphone as fast as DASH charger. This is the least priced smartphone in India to feature Snapdragon 835 SoC. Honor 8 Pro is the close contender for this phone.
