Motorola Moto E is one of the best budget Dual sim Android smartphone available right now. Latest Android OS, Dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera, good build quality and importantly it supports most of the connectivity features such as 2G, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB tethering and WiFi Hotspot. How to Use Motorola Moto E as modem to connect to PC or WiFi enabled devices

Before, starting to use Moto E WiFi hotspot feature, we should have a active data plan. As soon as you enable WiFi hotspot, the WiFi of the device will be turned off. Also, do remember that, WiFi consumes lot of battery. Hence use this wisely to save battery as well as the data usage charges. Lets start with using Moto E as Modem through WiFi hotspot.

Enable Moto E WiFi Hotspot
- First enable the data on your device.
- Go to Settings->Wireless & networks and tap on to “More….“
- Tap Tethering & mobile hotspot .
- Tap the Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot to turn On.
- You can customize the Hotspot name and password by tapping Set up Wi-Fi Hotspot.
- Enter a hotspot name or SSID which you want.
Customize the SSID and password
- Enter a password or use the default. The password is the key other people need to enter on their device so they can connect and use Moto E as a wireless router.
- To help make your Wi-Fi hotspot more secure, use the default security type.
- Tap on to Save.

To use HTC One as modem through WiFi Hotspot, please follow the steps mentioned below.
- Go to Settings, and then under Wireless & networks, tap More.
- Tap Mobile network sharing.
- Tap the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot On/Off switch to turn it on.
- The first time you turn on the Wi‍-Fi hotspot, you can customize the Hotspot name and password .
- Enter a hotspot name or use the default.
- Enter a password or use the default.
- The password is the key other people need to enter on their device so they can connect and use HTC One as a wireless router.
- To help make your Wi-Fi hotspot more secure, tap Advanced settings.
- Choose settings such as SSID and the security type, and then press .
- Tap Next and then tap Done.
Now you can use you HTC One as Modem through WiFi Hotspot.

Note:

Here is the few things you need to keep in mind while you are using HTC One M8 as modem via WiFi Hotspot.
- Make sure the data connection is turned on.
- You must have an approved data plan associated with your account from your mobile service provider to use this service. Devices connected to your Wi‍-Fi hotspot use data from your subscribed data plan.
- Using WiFi hotspot consumes more battery. Hence, when not in use, disable the WiFi Hotspot feature.

How to use Moto G as modem to connect to PC
Motorola Moto G is one of the best mid range smartphone. It is not as powerful as the most of the flagship smartphone in terms of the specification but in real time performance is outstanding for the price it is available. The price of Moto G is $179. The Moto G runs on Android Kitkat OS and powered by Dual core processor with 1GB of RAM. In this post let us see how to use the device as modem to connect to PC. This method of using Moto G tethering works with both the editions of Moto G.

How to use Motorola Moto G as modem to connect to PC

To use Moto G as modem, you need to first enable the USB tethering. To do this follow the below steps.

Step1: Touch to the Apps.

Step 2: Go to Settings.

Step 3: Tap on to More.

Step 4: Go to Tethering & Mobile Hotspot.

Step 5: Check the box for USB Tethering. Do note that, if you enabled WiFi or if USB cable is not connected, then USB tethering option will not be enabled.

Once the tethering is enabled, Moto G works as a modem to use internet from PC. You can disable USB tethering by unchecking the tethering & Mobile Hotspot.

Note:

1. Moto G Tethering works with Windows Vista, Windows 7 and popular linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora etc.
2. Even you can also use Motorola Moto G as WiFi Hotspot to connect to any WiFi enabled devices using the Mobile Hotspot feature.

Enable the mobile data on your Moto G.

Go to Settings->More–>Tethering & Mobile Hotspot

Check the Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot to enable WiFi Hotspot.

Customising Moto G WiFi Hotspot Settings

Go to Settings->More–>Tethering & Mobile Hotspot

Tap to Set up Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Enter or Edit the Network SSID, Security Type and Password according to your wish.

Tap Save to save the settings.
