  • Micromax YU Yuphoria First Impressions

    YU Televentures,  a subsidiary of Micromax launched its 2nd smartphone called Yuphoria. It features a  metal frame and will be available in buffed steel and champagne gold colour options. Like YU Yureka, YU Yuphoria also available exclusively on Amazon. The pre booking is already started.   YU Yuphoria price in India is Rs.6,999.

    YU Yuphoria is powered by 64 bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core CPU with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB DDR3 RAM. The device has 16GB internal storage and supports microSD card upto 128GB.  The device runs on Cynogen OS 12 which is a custom aftermarket version of Android 5.0 Lollipop. Cynogen is popular for its customisability, enhanced performance and additional features. The Cynogen OS 12 UI look and feel is very much similar to stock Android 5.0. However, you can customise through themes.

    YU Yuphoria measures 154.8x78x8.8 mm. It has 5 inch Fully laminated IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and screen resolution of 720x1280p. The pixel density is approximately 294 ppi.

The device houses 2230 mAh high density quick charge battery which is rated to deliver upto 160 hours of standby time.  The YU Yuphoria has Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo DCA audio chip for enhanced sound.

    YU Yuphoria will compete with the likes of Lenovo A600 Plus, Redme 2, Moto E 2nd  Gen 4G, Lenovo A7000. With same price and specifications, it will interesting see how it performs. The advantage over other is its Cynogen 12 OS.

    Yu Yureka is the first smartphone from Micromax Online only brand Yu. 4G connectivity, Cyanogenmod  custom ROM are the key highlights of the device. The Yu Yureka price in India is Rs.8999.

    Yu Yureka runs on Cyanogenmod 11 which offers lot of customisation. You can root Yureka phone without voiding the warranty. The device is powered by 1.5GHz Octa core Snapdragon 615 CPU with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

    Yu Yuphoria Review

    Yu Yureka sports 5.5 inch touch screen with 720p resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The pixel density of the device is 269. The connectivity features of the device includes 2G, 3G, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and tethering.

    Yu Yureka comes with 13MP autofocus rear camera (Exmor Sony  CMOS sensor, f2.2 aperture) which can record 1080p videos at 30fps and 720p videos at 60fps.  There is also a 5MP front facing camera for selfie lovers. The device is powered by 2500 mAh battery.  We will look into Yu Yureka Review based on  pros and cons of the device.

    Advantages and Disadvantages of Yu Yureka

    Pros of Yu Yureka

    • Good performance: The Octa core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM provides, very good performance.
    • Cyanogenmod  OS: The highly customisable skin and timely updates are the features of Cyanogenmod custom ROMS.
    • 4GB connectivity: The 4G connectivity feature on a budget device is a good to have feature.
    • Good Camera: The outdoor performance of the rear camera is really good.
    • Great Value for Money:  The device provides great value for money.

    Cons of Yu Yureka

    • Average Battery Life
    • Average low light camera performance: The photos taken on low light has lot of noise.
    •  Display is not sharp enough: The large 5.5 inch screen with 720p resolution produces only 269 ppi pixel density. This results in less sharp text and videos.
    • Lack availability: Getting the Yu Yureka is difficult because of marketing strategy.
    • Post sales Service: Though Micromax announced on door service, reachability of this in outside city limits is questionable.
