Samsung Galaxy A3 is the most affordable smartphone of the premium uni-body designed A series of Samsung. It is available in single sim variant and Dual sim variants.The other two smartphones with this premium design are Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7. The Samsung Galaxy A3 price in India is Rs.20,500.

Samsung Galaxy A3 is powered by 1.2GHz Quad Core snapdragon 410 chipset(64 bit ARM Cortex A53) with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. It has 16GB of internal storage and supports microSD card for external storage. However, you will not be able to use microSD card and second sim simultaneously.

Samsung Galaxy A3 Dual sim

Samsung Galaxy A3 sports 4.5 inch Super AMOLED screen with resolution of 540×960 pixels and 245 ppi pixel density. The screen to body ratio is around 65.5%. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass protection to prevent the scratched to the display screen. The connectivity features of the device are 2G,3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB, WiFi Hotspot and USB tethering.

Pros of Galaxy A3

  • Premium Build Quality: The full metal body with unibody design gives a premium feel. It is light weight and feels great in hand.
  • Good performance: The performance of the Galaxy A3 is good. There is very minimal or no lag while using the device. The high end games such as Modern Combat and Asphalt 5 runs without any issues.
  • Decent Display: The Super AMOLED screen provides good viewing angles and sunlight legibility also good.
  • Low SAR Value: It is one of the smartphone with very low SAR value.
  • Good front facing camera: Galaxy A3 front facing camera does pretty good job.
  • Battery and Call quality: The battery life is decent and the call quality also good.

Cons of Galaxy A3

  • Second sim and microSD card cannot be used simultaneously
  • No LED notification
  • No USB OTG support
  • Low light or artifical light camera performance is average
  • NO 4G support
  • Over priced: There are many other devices with same chipset available for much lower prices.
  • No Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
