Samsung Galaxy J5 Android Marshmallow Update Start Seeding
Samsung has started rolling out much awaited Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Galaxy J5 2015 smartphones in India. The size of the update is 874.18MB which includes latest security patch as well.

The changelog of new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update includes change in looks of system settings and notification bar, tweak in animation all over the system, performance improvement, advanced power saving mode(Doze mode which restricts the background data and extends battery life), Google Now on tap etc.

You will get a notification on the latest software update if you have enabled the automatic software updates. If not, you can manually check for the updates. As update is large in size, it is highly recommended to download via Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. Below is the step by step guide on how to update Galaxy J5 to Android 6.01 Marshmallow.

It is worth noting that, Samsung has launched Galaxy J5 2016 which runs on Android 6.0 out of the box. One of most advertised feature of the device is S-Bike mode. Though Galaxy J5 2015 has got S-Bike mode, it lacks NFC. Hence, users are not able use the function fully. However, latest Galaxy J5 comes with NFC which allows users to use S-Bike mode as advertised.

As mentioned before, these are the cons of Galaxy J5 2016 editions based on the specification.
- Same camera: Galaxy J5 2016 has the same camera specifications as that of its predecessor. It has 13MP primary camera with F1.9 and LED flash. It also has 5MP front facing camera.
- No Full HD Display screen: Samsung has increased the size of the display screen of 2016 edition of Galaxy J5. But it continued the same screen resolution of 720p. Hence the pixel density is reduced compared to 2015 edition of Galaxy J5.
- No major upgrade over CPU and GPU: The Galaxy J5 2016 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz along with 2GB of RAM. There are many devices at this price range has more powerful SoC.
- No Fingerprint scanner: Being priced at Rs.13,990, it was expected to have fingerprint scanner. The devices like Honor 5X, Coolpad Note 3 etc have fingerprint scanner and priced much lower than this device.
- Omission of basic sensors: Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 does not feature basic sensors like light sensor, compass etc.
- No LED Notification light: The LED notification light is not available in this device also.

You can type many indian languages such as Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya etc in Galaxy J5. For this, no need of any additional apps. You just need to add the language which you want to use.

First you need add the input language which you want to use.
- Go to Settings->Language and input
- Tap on to Samsung keyboard. Then go to Select input languages.
- Enable the language which you want to use by moving the slider to right.
- Now whenever you open keyboard, swiping left or right on the spacebar will change the language.
How to move apps to SD card?

Not all the apps can be moved to SD card. Some apps can be moved to SD card by going to Settings->Applications->Application manager. Here select the app which you want to move SD card. Then tap on to MOVE TO SD CARD.

How to use Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 personal Wi-Fi Hotspot

Samsung Galaxy personal Wi-Fi hotspot is the method through you can share your mobile data to other WiFi enabled devices through mobile hotspot.
1. First enable the Mobile data.
2. Now go to Apps->Settings.
3. Tap on to Tethering and Mobile hotspot.
4. Now Select Mobile Hotspot.
5. Here you can enable the WiFi hotspot by moving the slider to right.
